1. Introduction

Legal Status: Darnelix is currently operated by an individual developer under the trade name “Darnelix” and is not yet incorporated as a legal entity. References to “Darnelix,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refer to the individual operating under this name. If and when Darnelix becomes incorporated, this Privacy Policy will continue to apply and references to Darnelix shall refer to the incorporated entity.

Data Controller: Darnelix is the data controller for personal data processed under this Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how Darnelix (“Darnelix”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, secures, shares, and otherwise processes personal data of end users (“you”) of our Services, and what rights you have when we process your personal data.

In this notice, “Services” refers to our games, websites, and related services or properties we control; “Games” refers to our games and applications, including but not limited to Match Titans; and “Websites” refers to our online properties such as darnelix.com, matchtitans.com, and their subdomains.

Please read this notice carefully to understand how and why we collect data, what we do with it, and your rights. If you do not agree with this Policy, you should discontinue the use of our Services.

For any questions or concerns, please contact us at legal@darnelix.com.

2. Information We Collect

IP AddressSecurity, fraud prevention, detecting malicious users, and server logs
Device and App InformationTechnical troubleshooting, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance (including policy acceptance records), and application functionality
Player UsernameAccount identification, game progress, and personalization
Game ProgressTrophies, rank, statistics, coins and items, rewards not yet collected, unlocked game modes, your part in the games you played, and a skill rating we compute from your match results – to run the game, and to choose your opponents and the strength of the computer-controlled opponents you play against
Google Play Games DataUserID, DisplayName, AvatarURL – for authentication and profile display
Sign in with Apple DataUserID, DisplayName – for authentication and profile display
Facebook Login Data (earlier versions of Match Titans only)UserID, DisplayName, AvatarURL – for authentication and profile display

Device and App Information may include technical identifiers generated by the application, device operating system, device model, application version, and similar non-advertising technical data. This information is used solely for the operation, security, and integrity of the Services and is not used for advertising or cross-application tracking. It is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

2.2. Data Collected by Third-Party SDKs

Third-party SDKs integrated in our games, such as Unity Level Play (ironSource), may collect additional information:

Data TypePurpose
Advertising IDAnalytics, advertising, fraud prevention, personalization
Approximate LocationRegional relevance and analytics
User IDsAccount linkage, analytics
Purchase HistoryIn-app purchase processing and compliance
App ActivityGame progress, engagement, analytics
DiagnosticsApp performance and error tracking
Device or Other IDsDevice identification for analytics, advertising, and ad delivery

For more information on Unity and ironSource data handling, see the Unity Data Privacy documentation.

Our games also integrate Firebase Analytics (Google), which may collect the following information:

Data TypePurpose
App Instance IDAnalytics, user segmentation
App Usage & EventsGameplay analytics (e.g., tutorial completion, level progression, achievements)
Device & OS InformationAnalytics, performance monitoring
Crash & Performance DataApp stability monitoring

Firebase Analytics data is collected only from users who have answered Yes to the game’s own analytics question, which Match Titans asks separately from personalized ads, on Android and on iOS. Nothing is sent before that question is answered, and nothing is collected from users who answer No. (On the first start after the update that introduces the question, the app may record its start-up events on your device before the question appears; they are sent only if you answer Yes, and never sent otherwise.) You can change your answer at any time in the game’s Settings (“Share game analytics”).

For more information on Google data handling, see the Google Privacy Policy.

2.3. Data Practices for Unity Tools

Our Unity tools may include editor-time components that operate within the Unity Editor and runtime components that are incorporated into developers’ Unity projects. Neither category transmits personal data to Darnelix. Our tools do not phone home, do not include analytics SDKs on our behalf, and do not transmit telemetry to our servers — at edit time or at runtime.

Where a Darnelix tool includes a runtime component that ships inside a developer’s application, the developer of that application is responsible for their own data practices and privacy obligations toward the application’s users. This Policy does not govern data processed by such applications, even where they incorporate Darnelix code.

Note that your use of the Unity Editor itself is governed by Unity’s own privacy policy and terms, which apply independently of this Policy.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our websites do not use cookies for analytics or advertising purposes at this time.

Our games and applications may use similar technologies through integrated third-party SDKs, including Firebase Analytics (Google), for functionality, analytics, advertising, and fraud prevention, as described elsewhere in this Policy.

4. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve our Services
  • To provide customer support
  • To prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and security risks
  • To analyze usage trends and app performance
  • To comply with legal obligations

5. Push Notifications

Our mobile applications may send you push notifications related to service functionality, gameplay events, account status, or important updates. To enable push notifications, we may process a device identifier or notification token assigned by your device or operating system.

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device or operating system settings. We do not send push notifications that you have not consented to receive.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share personal information collected from our website. Data collected in our games may be shared with third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, and app functionality. These third-party SDK providers process personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies and may act as independent data controllers or processors, depending on the service.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

7. “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Our website does not sell or share personal information. In our mobile games, users can refuse personalized ads via the startup popup. Refusing personalized ads automatically sets the do_not_sell flag and disables ad personalization for California users.

Game analytics (Firebase Analytics) is a separate question in our games, with its own Yes or No, and can be turned off at any time in Settings. Refusing personalized ads does not turn analytics off, and agreeing to analytics does not turn personalized ads on. Both answers are passed to Google as consent-mode signals, so data from a user who refused personalized ads is not used to personalize ads.

For questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at legal@darnelix.com.

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) - personalized ads, and game analytics (Firebase Analytics) in our games
  • Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) - providing Services requested by you
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) - compliance with laws
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) - security, fraud prevention, and the aggregate statistics our own game servers keep (accounts, matches, purchases), which involve no third-party analytics SDK

9. Data Retention

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our Services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. Retention periods will be determined while taking into account the type of information that is collected and the purpose for which it is collected, bearing in mind the requirements applicable to the situation and the need to destroy outdated, unused information at the earliest reasonable time.

For Match Titans, deleting an account and what is kept after a deletion are described in section 10.

10. Match Titans

Deleting your Match Titans account

You can delete your account at any time: in the game, in Settings, with Delete Account; or by asking us, as https://www.matchtitans.com/account/delete explains, and we then delete it within 30 days. To find your account we need the user ID that Settings shows (“User ID: …”), or, if you can’t open the game, your player name exactly as the game shows it and how you played. Before deleting, we may ask for a detail that shows the account is yours, such as roughly how many trophies or coins it has, or the order number of a purchase.

When an account is deleted, we delete:

  • your player name, your sign-in token, and the links to the accounts you signed in with (Google Play Games, Apple or Facebook), with the picture they gave us;
  • your progress: trophies, rank, statistics, the skill rating we compute from your match results, coins and items, rewards not yet collected, unlocked game modes, and your part in the games you played;
  • the user ID shown in Settings, which no longer leads to anything;
  • the IP address and the device details (device ID, operating system and model) recorded when you accepted our terms and this policy.

A deleted account cannot be restored. Signing in again starts a new account.

What we keep after a deletion, and why

  • Purchases and the ledger of coins and items given and spent, because tax, accounting and consumer law require us to keep them, and so that refunds and chargebacks can be handled. A purchase keeps the store’s order number and receipt, which only the store (Google Play or the App Store) could link to the person who paid.
  • Which policies were accepted: the document, its version, when, and from which version of the game, without the IP address or device details, as part of the record of the terms a purchase was made under.
  • A record of the deleted account with nothing in it that identifies you, which the records above belong to: when it was created and when it was deleted, and the confirmation code of a deletion requested through Facebook.

The games you played stay in the other players’ records, without your name.

Server logs and backups

  • Our servers’ logs record connections and requests, with IP addresses and user IDs. They are deleted within 16 days.
  • Backups of our database are kept for up to 14 days on our server, and one offline copy, kept for disaster recovery only, for up to 90 days. A deleted account’s data leaves the backups as they expire, so within 90 days of the deletion.

Inactive guest accounts

A guest account, one not linked to Google Play Games, Apple or Facebook, that nobody has signed in to for 12 months is deleted as described above, unless we have blocked it, in which case we keep it while it is needed to prevent abuse or fraud, and then delete it.

11. Data Security

We are dedicated to protecting your personal data and will implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, consistent with industry standards, to safeguard your information against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. If you become aware of any potential security risks or breaches, please contact us immediately at legal@darnelix.com so that we can address the issue promptly.

12. Your Rights

  • Access and receive a copy of your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
  • Request data portability, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent where applicable - in our games, personalized ads and game analytics each have their own switch in Settings
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • File a complaint with a data protection authority

Contact us at legal@darnelix.com to exercise these rights.

13. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age without verifiable parental consent.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, a “child” refers to an individual who is under the age of 18 (or the age of majority under applicable law). Where required by law, we rely on parental or guardian consent for the collection and processing of personal data relating to a child. These age thresholds reflect different legal requirements under applicable child protection and data protection laws.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that we have collected personal data from your child in violation of applicable law, please contact us at legal@darnelix.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available through our Services, as indicated by the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to check for updates regularly. By continuing to access or use our Services after any updates take effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.

15. Contact Us

For questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us at legal@darnelix.com. For general support inquiries unrelated to privacy, please use support@darnelix.com.
